Deep Waterfront Reflections.

One of my favourite childhood memories is the time I spent at our coastal cottage on the water. If I close my eyes, I can smell the salt air, aarrghh. I can still hear the buzz of the 2 stroke on the tinny setting out for a day’s fishing. I can taste the freshly caught flathead, as it comes off the BBQ, while I try not to burn my mouth as I greedily gobble down this seafood delight I had caught earlier. I can feel the soft sand under my toes and remember madly racing to move the towel up the beach before the tide carried it away as I fished from the beach. I can see Dad’s boat at the end of the jetty patiently waiting to take us out on an adventure, down the Hawkesbury or off shore, for a spot of deep sea fishing.

My childhood was blessed with happy memories spent by the seaside with my family. Over the years I have sought to provide the same childhood delights for my children in this, our family seaside retreat.
